NASCAR Camping World News-
Donnie Neuenberger set for Daytona in #6 EZ Slider Chevy
Rick Ware Racing (RWR) is proud to announce that EZ-Slider has committed to sponsoring Donnie Neuenberger for the 2010 season—four in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and five in the Camping World Truck Series.
“We couldn’t be happier to be sponsoring Donnie Neuenberger again this season,” said Joe Korff, President of EZ-Slider. “It’s great publicity for EZ-Slider, but also, it’s just fun. Despite the tough economic situation last year, I love being involved in the racing industry. NASCAR is great, but we also pay a lot of attention to drag racing, muscle car racing, and, even tractor pulls.”
EZ-Slider will be featured on all of the Rick Ware racing team uniforms and artwork depicting the EZ-Slider logo will cover the team’s racing hauler. EZ-Slider will be starting the season at Daytona where it will be running the EZ Slider Camping World No. 6 with Rick Ware Racing and Neuenberger.
“EZ-Slider and I have a great story,” Neuenberger said. “It’s been a long road back for both the company and myself, and I want to thank everyone for the support and opportunity I’ve been given to do a lot more racing this year.”
Besides Daytona, EZ-Slider will be sponsoring the truck for races at the Talladega Superspeedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Dover, and the Atlanta Motor Speedway, among others.
Brett Butler contends for Rookie of the Year
Rick Ware Racing (RWR) will have a contender for Rookie of the Year in the Truck Series and he goes by the name of Brett Butler. Butler has raced in several series including the USAR Pro Cup where he finished 9th in the points. Brett has also raced in a handfull of races in the Truck Series and looks to make a impact immediately.
"We have a great team here and we feel with the right circumstances we can grab some top fives and tens along the way. With the support of Fuel Doctor for several of my races, I know we can give them exactly what they need, strong performances," stated Butler.
Brett raced with RWR at the season ending race at Homestead and Crew Cheif Gary Cogswell was impressed. "He is very green on the 1.5 mile tracks but he is a sponge and used what we told him and ran down some good trucks at Homestead."
Brett will have support of a second team which will add extra technology and guidence with the trucks and the tracks each and every week.
"I look forward to running with RWR, they are professional in every manner and have great equipment to get us to the front!"
Brett Butler Scores “Rookie of the Race” at Daytona debut in NextEra Energy Resources 250
Brett Butler looked over the starting grid of the NextEra Energy Resources 250 and knew that it would take patience and hard work to finish strong among the field of champions like Kyle Busch, Johnny Benson, Ron Hornaday Jr., Mike Skinner and Ted Musgrave.
Butler, piloting the #47 Fuel Doctor Chevy, made his fifth start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series from the 29th position, and the youngster from Snellville, Georgia carried a grin the entire time he was strapping in his seat.
“I am so excited to get this thing started,” stated Butler. “The guys have worked hard all winter and now it’s time to show that it will pay off!”
Brett climbed his way early in the event towards the front and by lap 15, he moved his Fuel Doctor Chevy into the 14th position. After a shuffle in pit strategy, Butler found himself in the lead, gaining valuable championship bonus points and marking the first time he has led a race in his NASCAR career.
Dodging several near crashes from his competitors, Butler was not only gaining valuable seat time but also confidence.
“The truck is good enough to get back to the lead, but I don’t think they are done crashing yet,” he chuckled with just 30 laps remaining.
Butler was correct. After an incident happened behind him, only fourteen trucks were on the lead lap with just fifteen laps to go.
The restart with just twelve laps to go was Butler’s opportunity at the leaders, and he quickly moved into the sixth position in the draft, following teammate Donnie Neuenberger. The Rick Ware Racing duo shuffled among the leaders for nearly five laps, and Brett crossed the line in 11th place, his career high in NASCAR.
Not only did Brett Butler grab his career high finish, but he also took the lead in the NASCAR Rookie of the Year points, setting the bar for fellow competitors Austin Dillon and Justin Lofton.
In the press room, the smile that Brett started the day with was still positioned firmly on his face.
BUTLER: YOU FLIRTED WITH A TOP-10 IN THE CLOSING LAPS OF THE RACE. "With our Fuel Doctor Go Green Machine, we were pretty good all night. We kind of just stayed in the back. We were one of the smart ones avoiding all the wrecks. Man, I can’t thank these guys enough. With 12 laps to go we decided to get with the pack. I think we were in 10th or so and we went three wide, got a little loose, just barely saved it, caught back up to the field and just ran out of time."
WAS THE STRATEGY TO RIDE ALONG AND PUSH MORE IN THE DRAFT THAN YOU PULLED? "It depends who you are. You can ask some of these other guys qualifying up front and their race trucks are destroyed. I qualified 29th and finished 11th so I’d say it’s a pretty good game plan [smiles]."
HOW IMPORTANT IS THIS FOR YOU TO FINISH WELL IN THE FIRST RACE OF THE YEAR? "Oh man I’ve ran four truck races and this is my best finish. The Rick Ware Racing guys, I can’t thank them enough, Fuel Doctor too."
HOW MANY CLOSE CALLS DID YOU HAVE TONIGHT? "Right there at the end with 12 to go, I mean, it was getting a little hairy between everybody but the closest call was when a guy was wanting to go three-wide with me. The truck didn’t like that, got a little sideways, we saved it and brought ‘er home 11th."
HOW MUCH MOMENTUM DOES THIS RUN GIVE YOU AND THE TEAM? "It’s awesome. I just hate it for Chrissy [Wallace] and the other cars [in the Nationwide race] but for us coming so close to a top-10, we’ll take it and build on this momentum and hopefully do the same in Atlanta."
IF YOU REWIND THE LAST FEW LAPS, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY? "No, I mean I had a great spotter. He told us to lay back, and with twelve to go Matt Crafton was back there with us. He said that with 12 to go we were going to move. I wouldn’t handle anything different. I can’t thank these guys enough. It’s been a great night."
HOW MUCH FUN DID YOU HAVE? "It was great. It was a blast man. Just riding back, that’s fun, but getting in that main draft was important. We’re very excited."
Neuenberger ties career high at NextEra Energy Resources 250 with RWR
It has been ten long years for Donnie Neuenberger in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since his 9th place finish at Daytona with truck owner Robert Long and the ebay.com sponsorship. Nearly a decade later to the date, Neuenberger backed up his debut finish and tied his career high in the series with a 9th place finish for Rick Ware Racing(RWR) and EZ-Slider.
Neuenberger joined RWR in the winter for select races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series and his first foray with RWR since 2002.
Donnie looked like a poised veteran when he qualified his #6 EZ-Slider Chevrolet in the 32nd position and worked with rookie teammate Brett Butler during practices for the NextEra Energy Resources 250.
“I really enjoy working with Rick (Ware). We have a long history and when I saw his venture in the truck series, I said I want to help build that, and here we are,” stated the Maryland native.
Neuenberger started the race in the 32nd position and quickly moved up into the top fifteen by lap twenty all the while working with rookie Butler.
“The truck is really good and when the time is right, we will make our move,” stated Donnie.
With twelve laps to go, Neuenberger started his quest and charged to the front, battling in the Top five in the closing laps. As the white flag flew, Neuenberger sat fourth, but a late charge by the pack shuffled him to a ninth place finish
“It feels good to run up at the front again. These guys made the EZ-Slider Chevy look good and opened the season off right. I want to thank Rick Ware Racing and the crew and we look forward to doing it again at Atlanta Motor Speedway,” stated Neuenberger.

Neuenberger looks to next chapter of 2010 Campaign after Top 10 in NCWTS Points
Donnie Neuenberger entered into the 2010 NASCAR season with the hopes to put his name and sponsor, EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners back into the mainstream of contenders in the Camping World Truck Series. Neuenberger entered the series with a familiar team in the Nationwide Series but a rather newcomer in the Camping World Truck Series, Rick Ware Racing (RWR) from Thomasville, North Carolina.
Grabbing the wheel of the #6 Chevy, the Maryland native made his debut with RWR at Daytona and finished 9th, tying his career high in the series. This past weekend, Neuenberger had full support once again from EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners and company CEO Joe Korff for the running of the EZ-Go 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“We really looked forward to the race here in Atlanta, but we realized how new we are to this series. The veterans have tons of laps here and have great pieces specified for this track and it is hard to match that type of technology and experience so quickly,” stated Neuenberger.
Neuenberger and the RWR team struggled with getting comfortable with the setup and the speed needed at such a fast track and qualified 33rd on the grid.
“Our goal is to log laps, take notes, stay out of trouble and come home in the Top 10 in points and we accomplished that,” stated Rick Ware.
Donnie is tied for 10th with his team mate and Rookie of the Year contender Brett Butler in the #47 Fuel Doctor Chevy.
“It will be difficult to step out of the 6 for some races but the team is sitting in a great points position and I look forward to working with the team at my home track, Dover International Speedway, in May”, stated Donnie.
Neuenberger is slated for several select races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck and Nationwide Series with Rick Ware Racing for 2010 and is excited about the direction the organization is heading in.
“The team struggled at times in 2009, but they have turned the corner in the off season and look solid now. They have made every event they have entered in both the Nationwide and Camping World Trucks and have hit career highs for all the drivers in their stable in the past 6 months.”
Donnie and EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners now prepare for their next race with RWR at Dover look forward to their climb back into the driver’s standings in May.
“I want to thank Rick Ware, Joe Korff, EZ-Slider Cylinders and the entire RWR team for a great couple races and I can’t wait to get a hold of the wheel of the 6 once again.”
Butler battles Atlanta but stays positive in Top 10 point standings
Brett Butler took to a track he has never raced on though it remained in his backyard in Atlanta, Georgia his entire life.
Sounds crazy but the youngster has never had the opportunity to race at the ultra fast Atlanta Motor Speedway until he grabbed the wheel of the #47 Fuel Doctor USA Chevy in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this past weekend.
“I have always been fond of Atlanta Motor Speedway and have been here several times but never to race. It is very fast and tests drivers every second of every lap and that is exactly what happened Saturday,” stated Butler.
Butler struggled to get comfortable with the “edge of the seat” feeling often experienced at the 1.5 mile tri-oval but overcame and qualified 32nd for the running of the EZ-Go 200.
“It is not the best qualifying effort of my career but honestly that has never been my strong suit. There are so many guys with tons of laps here and top notch equipment built for Atlanta and we knew it was going to take an extraordinary day for us to finish near the front.”
Brett rallied from the rear of the field and showed a lot of patience during the learning curve at Atlanta to bring the Fuel Doctor USA truck home in the 23rd position.
“The RWR (Rick Ware Racing) team was really conservative this weekend knowing the odds we were up against and it worked in our favor, having a truck in one piece, logging laps and finishing in the Top 10 in points,” claimed Butler.
Butler is currently tied with team mate Donnie Neuenberger for the 10th position in the Championship Standings after two races and 2nd in Rookie of the Year Championship as well.
Butler now looks forward to a track that he is familiar with, Martinsville Speedway. “I’ve actually got some laps in a truck somewhere.” Brett chuckled.
The Georgia native finished 26th and 20th in the two races at the half mile track in 2009 and knows he has a great opportunity to showcase his talents once again.
“I am really looking forward to running at Martinsville. The guys brought a really great truck there last year with Tim Brown and I know they will give me exactly what I need to get the job done.”
Butler returns to Martinsville
As a rookie, drivers tend to race at track they have never raced at before, but for Brett Butler this is not the case as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Martinsville Speedway for the Kroger 250 on March 27th.
Butler, driving the #47 Fuel Doctor USA Chevy for Rick Ware Racing has some experience at the ½ mile track known as “The Paperclip”.
“I have raced at Martinsville twice now in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, both times in 2009,” stated Butler.
“I love racing on these short tracks ever since my USAR Pro Cup days and I think it’s safe to say that nearly all of us in the Camping World Truck Series enjoy racing at Martinsville.”
The side-by-side and fender rubbing of Martinsville is grass roots racing as it gets, and Butler is ready for the challenge.
“I got to race last fall against the truck I’m in this week. I am pumped. Though they had part failure, when they came back out on the track it was wicked fast. So fast actually that when we discussed me coming over to Rick Ware Racing I requested that truck for this race!”
Butler, sits in the 10th position in the Drivers Standings, and is currently 3rd in the Rookie of the Year points, but he likes his chances to improve that this weekend.
“I love this time of the year. The NCAA March Madness is going on and that event always reminds you that at anytime, an underdog has a chance to win. We feel the same way here at Ware Racing. The truck is excellent. I have plenty of laps here, and with short track racing, anything and everything is possible. Every dog has his day.”
When asked what he has been doing in the past few weeks, Brett smirks, “I am being the Alpha Dog! Alpha Dog Training that is!”
Butler has started his own company, Alpha Dog Training, where he trains obedience to his K-9 companions.
“I have always worked with dogs and have trained several with another company and thought it was time to start my own organization. We just got the van all wrapped and looking sharp and my new clients are learning their new commands quite well,” Brett continued.
“It is always nice to have some quite time, but I am looking forward to a good ole’ dog fight at Martinsville.”
Practice begins on 10:00am EST on Friday with qualifying at 4:40pm EST. The Kroger 250 will air on SPEED on Saturday the 27th at 2:00pm EST.
Canadian short track standout DJ Kennington takes over 6 for debut at Martinsville
For years DJ Kennington has owned the short track circuits of Canada in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, and is ready to make his stand as a contender in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Martinsville.
DJK, the runner-up in the NCTS point standings in 2009, has never finished outside the top three in points in the last five years and has seen stints of action in the NASCAR Nationwide Series dating back to 2006 with a total of 45 races.
Kennington will be making his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the #6 Northern Provincial Pipelines entry for Rick Ware Racing at Martinsville Speedway on March 27th for the running of the Kroger 250.
“I’ve cut my teeth on ½ mile and smaller flat tracks all over Canada and Martinsville is a place I have always wanted to race at,” stated Kennington.
The close quarter racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Martinsville is exactly what the St. Thomas, Ontario native will get at “The Paperclip!”
“I have run at nearly every track in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and none of those resemble the type of racing we do here in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. We run a bunch of road course events but a majority of our races on ½ mile and smaller flat tracks, just like Martinsville.”
Kennington will see some familiar faces with his new team as well. “I have worked with half the team before in the Nationwide Series and they are showing in the truck series and at Ware Racing, just how fierce they are as competitors,” claimed DJ.
DJ will be driving the 6 truck that Donnie Neuenberger has set in the 10th position in driver points, as Donnie begins preparing for his Nationwide Series schedule. Ironically, Kennington’s new teammate, Brett Butler in the #47 Fuel Doctor USA Chevy, is tied with Neuenberger for that 10th place position.
“This team has really come together in a short period of time and is showing everyone that they are contenders. The long hours and experience from Crew Chief Gary Cogswell, has given them a solid baseline to build from and I am excited to be a part of their future.”
Kennington knows what it takes to build a team from the ground up. DJK Racing has expanded from a one car team in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series to a three car team with himself, Joey Hanssen and Pierre Bourque for 2010.
“If anyone knows how hard it is to build a team, I know firsthand,” claimed Kennington. DJK Racing finished 2nd in the points and Hanssen claimed Rookie of the Year honors in 2009 before expanding to three teams.
“This is a tough business as an owner, and I see how hard Rick Ware is working to make it happen with his sponsors. Racing is just a fraction of what it takes to be successful in this industry. RWR has shown the way to many small companies that success doesn’t come with a six figure sponsorship and I have done the same up north” Kennington added.
“We have experience, youth, and the drive to be the best here at RWR and we look to showcase that at a place I have dreamed about racing at my entire career.”
Butler watches Top 15 vanish at Martinsville
Brett Butler was poised to grab another Top 15 and grab another “Rookie of the Race” award but with just 12 laps to remaining in the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway, all that vanished.
After qualifying was cancelled, due to heavy rains in the area, Butler and the #47 Fuel Doctor USA “Green Machine” started the race based off 2009 Owner Standings in the 20th position. The Georgia native made quick work of several trucks and marched his way towards the front of the field.
“The FD-47 truck was handling very well and with all the wrecks happening, it was obviously going to be a long day avoiding the carnage”, stated Butler.
Butler kept the nose of his Chevy clean and on lap 137, found himself on a restart in the 5th position. “We knew that we had some heavy hitters behind us like Harvick and Sauter and we needed to be patiently-aggressive to get through the restart.”
Brett drove into turn one on the bottom when the #3 truck drove onto the curb and hopped into the #47’s left rear tire cutting it down instantly.
Butler bounced off trucks left and right until the #60 crashed into the rear of the truck before he could get to pit road.
The crew went to work over the next few stops to return Brett to action and back into the 16th position.
“The guys really worked hard on getting all the damage off the tires and kept us in contention,” stated Brett.
With just twelve laps remaining, the Fuel Doctor 47 truck lost all power and the driver was left to coast in on the backstretch.
“This is really heartbreaking. The truck was good enough for a Top 15 and to watch it vanish is difficult. The whole team is crushed, but I know they will give it their all at Nashville next week.”
Kennington matches career high in Truck Series debut
DJ Kennington has 45 races under his belt in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with a career high finish of 17th at Talladega. In his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Kennington matched that career high at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday.
DJK started the Kroger 250, in the 35th place position after rain cancelled qualifying, and battled through traffic while pole sitter and eventual winner, Kevin Harvick set sail on the rear of the field.
On lap 44, Harvick caught Kennington’s #6 Northern Provincial Pipelines Chevy putting him one lap down. Shortly after, the caution flag waved allowing the Canadian native to get his lap back, that’s when the trouble started.
“Everyone was so spread out that by the time I got the wave around, the leader was already in turn three,” stated DJ. By the time Kennington hit his pit stall, the lap he just got back was lost and after changing tires and returning to the track, Harvick was on his tail in the backstretch.
“That’s one of those things with a short track and a large field, if they aren’t bunched up, there is little time to make adjustments.”
Kennington rallied the rest of the event, dodging spinning trucks and debris. “I really enjoyed racing the RWR truck this weekend. I learned a lot about these things as the race went on. The entrance and exit is so crucial and a quite a bit different than the Nationwide and Canadian Tire Series cars I have raced in the past.”
DJK finished the day in 17th, matching his career high in one of the Top 3 NASCAR Series. “I look forward to racing with the team again. Right now I have to get my Castrol 17 Canadian Tire Series team rolling so I need to head up north but I’m looking forward to returning in May. I want to thank Northern Provincial Pipeline, Dwight Kennedy and Rick Ware for a great weekend, and we will do it again soon!”
Brian Rose Making Final Preparations For Return To NASCAR
BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (March 29, 2010) - - Bowling Green, Kentucky native Brian Rose is gearing up and making his final preparations to return to NASCAR which is set to re-ignite this week at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) for Rick Ware Racing (RWR).
Rose will make a humble return to NASCAR since being suspended back in 2003 for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy. Now, nearly seven years later Rose is drug-free and ready to get back behind the wheel and gain the trust and support that he once embraced.
“I’m just extremely thankful for this second chance,” said Rose, who will drive the No. 6 Chevrolet Silverado. “I made a big mistake several years ago and it really hit me hard. Instead of being there at the race track – I was sitting at home – wondering why. I’ve been clean for a long time now but I’ve had to prepare myself physically and mentally to get back behind the wheel. The time has finally come and I’m ready to make the best of it.”
Rose is planning on running a limited NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule to readapt himself to the trucks, cars and tracks before making a decision on which direction he’ll take for a hopeful full-schedule in 2011.
“It’s about learning and getting reacquainted this year,” continued Rose, who holds 38 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his credit. “Rick Ware has been very reassuring and I know that I still have what it takes to drive. I know we’ll have some bumps along the way – but I’m ready for them.”
He added, “I don’t expect us to go out there and be in contention to win races outside the box – but I do see us with time finding ourselves running and finishing in the top-10 in a short time.”
Without hesitation Rose laid out his plans for his comeback at the concrete 1.333-mile Nashville Superspeedway. “I’ve raced at Nashville twice. I finished a solid 15th there back in 2001 so I’m still confident I know how to get around there, we just need to have a good-handling truck and more importantly finish the race.”
From 2001-2003 Brian Rose has competed in 38 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) events driving for car owners such as the late Bobby Hamilton Sr., Billy Ballew and Ware. He has scored five top-10 finishes including a fourth place effort in his restrictor plate debut at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in 2002. He has controlled the field for 35 laps.

Butler ready for Music City
Brett Butler looks at Nashville Superspeedway as a chance to play his song in the Music City. The Georgia native will be behind the wheel of the #47 Fuel Doctor USA Chevy and looks for some R.E.S.P.E.C.T. in his bid for Rookie of the Year.
“I got shoved around pretty good there in the closing of the Kroger 250 at Martinsville last week but that won’t happen this week”, stated Butler.
Butler will be making his first start at the 1.333 mile track that will hold practice at 10:00am EST on Friday April 1, 2010.
“I really look forward to hitting the track at Nashville. I have never been there and the track looks pretty smooth but we need to utilize every second of the practice sessions to get the truck dialed in,” stated Butler.
Racing action for the Nashville 200 will start with qualifying at 5pm EST and racing at 8pm EST on April 2nd on SPEED.

Butler O.K. after slew of incidents at Nashville
Brett Butler is home and resting after suffering from carbon monixide poisining, fiberglass cuts, infected eyes and burns on his hands after the race Friday night in Nashville.
Butler cut a tire after a competitor got into the wall on lap one and ran over debris. The result seemed minimal at first with the 47 Fuel Doctor USA Chevy with just the right side of the truck being torn away at the rear tire. Soon after Butler complained of debris inside the truck as the firewall that protects the driver from the outside was torn away during the incident.
As the tempertures increased, Butler started getting the front end of 140 degree heat that caused the sweat to capture fragments of the fiberglass and rubber from the track, ultimately landing in Brett's eyes.
"It was so difficult to see. The burning was so bad that I was blinking rapidly but it didnt help. I tried to wipe my eyes but there was so much debris on my gloves that I just added more to the problem," stated Brett.
Butler refused to give up, struggling with the pain to finish the race.
"At one point late in the race we knew we couldnt gain or lose anymore positions if I pulled off the track. It is my job as a representative of Fuel Doctor USA to get as much for the organization as possible. I made the personal decision to see the checkered flag and I did!"
Butler's heroic journey didnt get visibility to anyone but his team.
"We knew he was in pain and told him if he pulled in we would support that decision. The kid has a heart of a champion and went the distance despite all the misfortunes," stated Crew Chief Gary Cogswell.
Butler remained in the Top 25 in owner points, locking himself a starting position at Kansas on May 2nd.
"This was not the finish that we wanted but we did more than expected considering it all. I am going to recover with the oxygen treatments and the cuts to my eyes and face and will be ready in a few weeks!"
Butler watches Top 10 vanish at Kansas
Brett Butler’s luck has been just one sided in 2010, down right bad! After nearly a month off from racing, Butler was ready to change his luck after his last race left him struggling after a lap one incident in Nashville.
Brett grabbed the wheel of his #47 Fuel Doctor USA Chevy in the O’Reilly 300 at Kansas Speedway after qualifying 33rd for the event, but remained positive, understanding that the truck would be a better racer than a qualifier.
The Georgia native was correct and in just ten laps, Butler had the Fuel Doctor truck up to the 16th position and closing in fast.
After a quick pit stop, the crew made a minor adjustment and Butler set sail on the leaders, turning comparable laps to the top three trucks.
With dark clouds hanging over the front stretch, Butler made his charge up to the 12th position on lap 91 knowing that rain was coming.
“We are set up for a great finish,” stated Gary Cogswell, Butler’s Crew Chief. “We are prepared to have a red flag and understood that with a couple set of sticker tires and a full tank, we have a truck and driver capable of at least a top 10!” Cogswell announced to the crew.
On lap 95, Butler dropped to the inside of the lap truck driven by Jennifer Jo Cobb, but Cobb didn’t know the 47 was there.
“It’s bad,” Butler stated to the crew. The Fuel Doctor Chevy took hard damage to the right side of the truck, knocking the lower control arm into the frame.
“This is heartbreaking,” Brett claimed as the rain began to fall. “This truck was awesome and we had another great run result in a bad finish that wasn’t our doing. The moment we change our luck, we will be tough competition for everyone!”
The Rick Ware Racing team will now have their hands full, rebuilding the truck for Dover.
“I can’t thank the guys enough for the piece they gave me this weekend. The Fuel Doctor ”Green Machine” was the best intermediate truck I have driven, and I have no doubt that our luck will change sooner than later,” proclaimed Butler.
Butler ready for the Monster!
Brett Butler, driver of the #47 Fuel Doctor Chevy, is ready to take on the Monster. Butler will visit perhaps the toughest track on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule, Friday for the running of the Dover 200 at Dover International Speedway.
“This is place is so tough, and honestly, I am pumped to get it at,” stated Butler.
The Georgia native has several reasons to get excited about a track that many fear. “We were so strong at Kansas and had a shot at a Top 10 but got caught up with a lap truck that ruined the day. The guys back at RWR (Rick Ware Racing) gave me such a good piece there and have worked around the clock to do the same for Dover!” Brett proclaimed.
This will be the race for Butler at Dover and he has seen enough to know that this track is truly a “Monster!”
“The speeds are so fast here with all the banking and there is little room for error. Even if it’s not your fault, the track closes up so fast that many times you’re into the wreck before you can slow down. The track eats competitors up!”
Brett will be guiding the Fuel Doctor USA Chevy around the track with veteran team mate Donnie Neuenberger’s help.
“Donnie has been here a ton and has always given me such great advice at these tracks that I haven’t been to. This is Donnie’s stomping ground and I think both of us will give RWR another great run together!”
Action begins for the Dover 200 with practice on Thursday at 2:30. Qualifying will be on Friday at 10:10am EST on SPEED with the race starting at 4:45pm.
Butler plays it safe at Charlotte finishes 22nd
Brett Butler, driver of the #47 Fuel Doctor Chevy, was in a slump. After wrecks at Dover, Kansas, and Nashville, Butler needed every remedy available to break that streak.
The Georgia native took the green flag at the back of the pack and slow and meticulously picked off positions all night in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.
“This is not the way we wanted to race but desperate times calls for desperate measures. We needed to finish. We’ve had fast trucks for the past several weeks, but have not had the finish to show it. Despite the situation, we had a goal for the race and accomplished it. In one piece!” stated Butler.
The team will now focus on rebuilding the inventory of trucks from the past few months. “It’s been a rough start to the season, but every week our trucks and drivers are getting better. It’s a long season and there is still time to charge back to the front,” stated owner Rick Ware.
The next race for Butler will be at the Winstar World Casino 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on June 4th.
